Return Policy

At The Silk and Cotton Co, we take design and craftsmanship seriously and we want you to love these pieces as much as we do. Our items are carefully inspected prior to shipment, but damages do happen, and we ask that you inspect your pieces upon receipt and notify us of any damage within 24 hours. The Studio does not accept returns or exchanges on the following items: custom upholstery, furniture, candles, art, rugs and sale items. We strive on our furniture being made within 2-3 weeks, however, furniture may take an additional 5-7 business days while in transit. A handling fee is applied to any piece that requires extra care to ship or must ship freight, including rugs. This fee covers the cost of moving the oversized piece into the desired space and does not include package material removal or assembly. The Silk and Cotton Co sofa range holds a 2 year warranty. This is for the frame and seat inners only. Fabric wears and tears, regardless of rub count. We therefore cannot guarantee the fabric life as we have no control over the way in which the sofa is cared for or cleaned. No returns are accepted on fabric used on sofas or any other furniture from The Silk and Cotton Co.



To ensure the longevity of your furniture, we recommend using only professional cleaners to clean your sofas, armchairs and rugs. We cannot be held responsible for any damages caused by any cleaning errors that may take place. Should you wish to wash your slipcover yourself, please wash it in cold water (Zero degrees), with only a suitable washing powder on a light cycle. Do not overspin. Do not iron. Allow the wet slipcover to lie over a clothes horse to ensure no weight from the water will stretch it out. When the slipcover is 50% dry, task to recover the sofa with the slipcover. Allowing for a little dampness ensures the slip cover will recover more easily.


We outsource our shipping to Campos Transport. They have years of experience in transporting furniture around South Africa. While every effort is taken to ensure your pieces arrive in perfect condition, we cannot be held responsible for any damages caused by Campos. Please inspect your order as it arrives and do not sign the delivery note. Please let us know, so we can inform Campos Head Office. A signed delivery note is proof that your merchandise has been received in good order with no faults.

We charge a flat rate delivery fee of R199. This is added to your order when checking out and paying online.
